چکیده

Article history: Received 22 April 2011 Received in revised form 8 April 2013 Accepted 14 April 2013 Available online 23 April 2013 Using a panel dataset of 31 provinces in China, this paper computes the output-oriented Malmquist productivity indexes and their decomposition in China's agricultural sector over the period 1994–2008. In the second-stage regression, which uses the efficiency change and technical progress rates as dependent variables, we have found an increasing level of “equilibrium” efficiency and a robust convergence in China's agricultural efficiency; the latter has also been enhanced by China's integration into the global economy. Our results imply that the opening of the Chinese economy will end the decline in China's agricultural efficiency at last. © 2013 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved. JEL classification: O13 O33 O47

Two-stage network DEA-R based on value efficiency

It is essential for most organizations and financial institutes to be able to evaluate their decision-making units (DMUs), when there is only a ratio of inputs to outputs (or vice versa) available. In this paper, we will propose our two-stage DEA-R models, which are a combination of data envelopment analysis and ratio data, based on value efficiency. Integrating value efficiency into data envel...

Providing an algorithm for solving general optimization problems based on Domino theory

Optimization is a very important process in engineering. Engineers can create better production only if they make use of optimization tools in reduction of its costs including consumption time. Many of the engineering real-word problems are of course non-solvable mathematically (by mathematical programming solvers). Therefore, meta-heuristic optimization algorithms are needed to solve these pro...

Price Transmission Analysis in Iran Chicken Market

Over the past three decades vertical price transmission analysis has been the subject of considerable attention in applied agricultural conomics. It has been argued that the existence of asymmetric price transmission generates rents for marketing and processing agents. Retail prices allegedly move faster upwards than downwards in response to farm level pricemovements. This is an important issue...
